Handbag Alchemy

For this project in my accessories class, we were challenged to merge two handbags—one iconic designer piece and one thrifted purse—into a brand-new design. I was given the classic Hermès Kelly bag and a woven, nameless thrift find. Inspired by the couture essence of the Kelly, I decided to create my reinterpretation completely from scratch. I hand-wove the entire piece, blending traditional craftsmanship with a fresh, contemporary take on a fashion icon.
